These three cinemas are Brisbane’s biggest with a whopping 16 screens each.
They are also some of the newer cinemas in the BCC chain.
Chermside underwent a major refurbishment and opened in 2000.
Indooroopilly’s
refurbishment finished in late 1998.
Movie
Quality & Range
- 7 out of 10
They do focus on the blockbusters but you might be surprised to find that they
show quite a few quality art-house flicks. By having 16 cinemas, you won’t find
a bigger range in general. If a film has been out for a while and is not
showing at most other cinemas, you can try looking here because it might still
be showing.
Cinema Quality & Service
- 5 out of 10
The service is one of the biggest reasons I avoid any Birch, Carroll & Coyle
cinema. They make you go to the candy bar to get tickets just so you’ll be
enticed into impulse purchases. No matter what the time, there always seems to
be queue. Waiting for a the family in front to be served 6 cokes and 3 large
popcorns really burns me up when I’m waiting for a single ticket and nothing
more. Don’t go looking for any meal deals either.
With all the money the chain has, at least the seats and cinemas are pretty
good. At Chermside though, they don’t have
retractable arm rests which seems a bit behind the times.

Other comments
·
Along with the other BCC

·
Cost of a full-price ticket,
medium popcorn and medium coke: $26.40 (almost double that of
Southbank).
