The Stranger (out Apr 16) is gorgeous to look at but at the same time, the slow-burn nature of the material makes it difficult to sit through. Based on the 1942 novel of Albert Camus, it's the tale of a good-looking, nonchalant Frenchman who, while living in Algiers, kills a local man and is put on trial for murder. Grade: B-.
